Appraisal vs. Offer — What's the Difference?

An appraisal is a documented professional opinion of fair market value — the price an item would bring between a willing buyer and seller. Executors and attorneys often need written appraisals for probate and estate settlement, and we provide them as a paid professional service. An offer is what we'll actually pay you today, and hearing it costs nothing. Many families start with a free consultation and decide from there.

Do you charge for consultations?

No — consultations are always free, with no obligation to sell. Formal written appraisals (for estates, attorneys, or insurance) are a separate paid service.

How do I sell an inherited coin collection in Florida?

Contact Blue Water Coins at

772-529-1008

we come to you anywhere from Sebastian to Boca Raton. We evaluate the collection piece by piece at your home or bank, explain what you have in plain English, and pay the same day if you choose to sell. We regularly handle large estates other dealers can't.

How do you pay, and how fast?

You're paid the same day, at the appointment — by business check, bank check, ACH, or wire transfer. There are no delays and nothing to wait for.

How do I know your offer is fair?

Because we show our work. Precious metals are tested in front of you with an XRF analyzer and priced against the live spot market; coins are evaluated by a numismatist with fifty years of experience. We're ANA and FUN lifetime members and NGC and PMG authorized dealers — our reputation runs on Google reviews and word of mouth, and we intend to keep it that way. Should I clean my coins before selling them?

No — never clean coins. Cleaning damages the surface and can cut a collectible coin's value dramatically. Bring them exactly as they are, dust and all; original condition is what collectors and graders want.

How should I prepare for the appointment?

Just gather everything in one place — don't sort, polish, or discard anything, because value hides in unexpected pieces. If it's easy, text us photos beforehand so the evaluation starts early. Have your ID handy; Florida law requires us to verify sellers' identity.

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT?

Yes — we're a mobile, by-appointment service, which is exactly what lets us come to you. Call Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM, and we'll find a time that works.

WHAT AREAS DO YOU SERVE?

Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach Counties — including Sebastian, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Stuart, Hobe Sound, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, and Boca Raton.
